CML

Frequently Asked Questions.

Whether you are considering a minor repair through to extending a commercial building, we understand that this can raise numerous questions.

We are here to provide clarity and guidance every step of the way.  If you don’t find the answers you’re looking for here, please reach out to our team, we are always happy to assist in any way we can.

Is CML a New Zealand company?

Yes, CML is 100% Kiwi owned.  Most of our staff are New Zealand born.  We do have one Aussie.

How does CML charge for its work?

We provide comprehensive fixed price quotes.  Our aim is to avoid the need for variations.  This approach is well suited to large organisations who procure through purchase orders or smaller organisations that need certainty around their financial commitment.

How long has CML been in business?

CML was founded in 2010 with a change in ownership occurring in 2015.

Is CML financially stable and responsible?

Yes we are.  Sensible financial management is very important to us and sadly not always the case in the construction sector.

CML does not carry any debt other than shareholder funding.  All our plant and equipment, including vehicles, are owned outright.  Where we use subcontractors, we pay them as soon as their work is complete and do not hold retentions over them.

Does CML guarantee its work?

CML guarantees that its restricted and unrestricted construction work complies with the relevant building codes specified in the New Zealand Building Act 2014.  In the unlikely event that something goes wrong, we will put it right at our cost.

What makes CML stand out from its competitors?

There are many reasons why CML is a great company to work with as detailed on this website.  Probably our three key points of difference are:

1. We have our own in-house field force.  We do not contract everything out like many other ‘construction’ companies.

2. We focus on what we are good at.  We are not in the business of chasing large projects that do not complement our operation and skill set.

3. We bring the service that you would expect from a professional services organisation to the construction industry.  Good manners, constant communication, expertise and problem solving.

We are in the middle of a construction disaster with another company. Can CML help?

At CML we have plenty of project rescue experience.  Sometimes we just need to provide some general guidance, other times we need to completely take over.  Existing contractual agreements also need to be considered.  Each situation is unique.
